The Competence Center of Lombardy, managed by the Milan Polytechnic, is named MADE.
It will be operational from September on an area of over 2000 square meters. within the Bovisa-Durando Campus of the Milan Polytechnic, in a context particularly favorable to its expansion, given the presence of important companies dedicated to innovation such as PoliHub, the accelerator of the University of Milan that hosts 113 businesses, and the Joint Platform of the Milan Polytechnic with the Tsinghua University in Beijing.
It is a real hub for Industry 4.0 that will allow the training of qualified resources able to develop new innovative projects and become a national and international reference point.
An area dedicated to new digital technologies designed to encourage the digitization of companies, which will be able to get a close-up look at the news in the IT sector.
“In 2000 square meters […] there will be 14 demonstration islands on key enabling technologies, from 3D design to cobots, from big data to cyber security, from energy efficiency to human-machine interfaces. This way companies can understand how the currently available solutions can be used to improve their competitiveness. In addition to guidance, the Competence Center will also train in the concrete form of the teaching factory, aimed at those who work in the company and must develop their skills”, said Marco Taisch, appointed President of the Competence Center.
The project is based on the allocation of resources of up to 22 million euros over a three-year period (8 million for applied research projects and 14 million technology transfer to equipment and personnel). There are 39 signatures of technology providers, consultants, system integrators, training experts and Inail, who work alongside the University of Bergamo, Brescia and Pavia and the Milan Polytechnic leader.
